Aesop rocks

OK... maybe the stories represented in the print are less Aesop and more Grimm... but the title just worked.

Fairy tale dress from Australian brand Insight. The print is great (see detail below)! I don't know why I look so zoned out in these photos.

Neon tank American Apparel, dress Insight, shoes Dolce Vita.

Plus sweater from Urban. I'm always freezing in the a/c at work...

All of your childhood friends are represented!

I think I've shown these before... snakeskin shoes from DV. I think I could wear them every day.

Chicago--Miscellany

Water tower-y.

Crazy marbled shots done in honor of Paul's birthday.

Paul and Byron pre-shot.

The view from Paul's roof deck--amazing!

Chicago--Hotel Burnham

Some shots of the lovely Hotel Burnham at State and Washington Streets. It was so nice to be in a boutique hotel that wasn't all modern and stark. They did a great job refurbishing the old Reliance Building and kept most of the old details. Behold:

Lo, a real key!

Dip-dyed dandy

Silk dress Wilfred, necklace Tatty Devine, shoes Jeffrey Campbell.

Close-up of the etched "gems" of the lovely Tatty Devine necklace.

Marie Antoine-not

One of my favorite skirts. Such a fancy shape done in such a humble, cotton fabric.

T-shirt vintage, skirt sample from my old job, bracelet from HK (I forget the designer's name!), shoes Dolce Vita.

Yes, I put Cochino's picture in the locket...

Chambrease-y

Chambray + ease.

Dress Pink & Chartreuse (Anthro), coral necklace vintage (from my mom), shoes Dolce Vita.
Close-up of armpit, necklace, and pintucking on dress.

Hangin' loose

The colors of this outfit remind me of vintage O.P. beachwear. The shirt is from my friends' line called Skaen. There is a screenprint from a Dick and Jane book on the back.
See Skaen Rule.

Tee Skaen, tank H&M, fabric-covered locked from Milosh (from Anthro), gauze skirt Calvin Klein, shoes Devotte.

Red, white, and romp!

Sure, it's a little Three's Company... but that's a good thing, right?

Romper vintage, jelly shoes Melissa.

Desperately seeking something

Necktie ?, shirt Chandi, skirt Surface to Air (Paris), shoes Jeffrey Campbell.

The graphic is winged zebras. Note the high waisted tuxedo detailing on the skirt. It actually belts in the back, like a cummerbund.

Don't mess with Texas

Texas cotton, that is.

I love this t-shirt so much, I even scored one for Byron.

T-shirt from one of my suppliers, necklace vintage, skirt vintage, shoes Dolce Vita.

Peep the screenprinted silhouettes on the pockets of the skirt.

I think I've shown these before...

Texas is stretchy... anyway, just wanted to show the back of the shirt, but the photo makes me look very hulky. Oh well.

Cat baby hoedown

Dress sample from my old job, necklace Tatty Devine, shoes Dolce Vita (forgot to take a close-up), cat Cochino.

Close-up of the bee wing necklace and embroidery on the dress.

A little bit country

I think my dates are out of order here... oh well. Not the best picture quality either... double oh well. And this picture is simply unflattering. I look like a woman scored whilst line dancing.

Shirt by me (sample made while I was at my old company), skirt vintage, shoes Opening Ceremony.

Close-up of the reversed out yoke of the shirt. I love doubleweaves.

Tea for two

Scarf Anna Sui, necklace from Hong Kong, dress Gap, shoes Opening Ceremony.

My new favorite coffee mug necklace.

Close up of my cute new Anna Sui scarf.

Hong Kong--Part 5--Podtastic!

This is the way to travel. Check the pods... the seat reclines flat into a true bed. Sleep was actually achievable! And notice the privacy these pods afford. No one could make fun of my watching an episode of Sex and the City schmaltz. (Hey, after 3 glasses of champagne, my judgment was impaired!)

The view from my pod.

Me, in pod.

More pod. (I should also mention that I am fairly obsessed with the ergonomics of personal spaces... and, well, design for travel in general. And I also love plane food...)

My monitor.

Bad lighting, but good food. I had the traditional Japanese meal on the way home. This was the first course. The second was a filet of beef. Yum!

Hong Kong--Part 4--Foodstuffs

Street shot of sammies and some mystery knuckle-looking thing.

These buns are sticking their little hammy tongues out at you!

I forgot what this is called... it's some sort of "apple."

Oh... Freshness Burger. I became obsessed with taking a good photo of this sign, but it was tricky whilst on the escalator! Anyway, you'll have to trust me that there is a Teriyaki Spam Burger, as well as the ever-mysterious Menchi Burger. YUM!

Our last night, we went out to the New Territories for a seafood dinner. It was a cute little beach town, and there was more fresh seafood than I've ever seen. They had at least 4 varieties of what looked to be lobster. The above is what I call "stripey bottled lobster." We didn't try them, but I totally would have.

We did eat these. They were delicious, but every time I thought about their creepy bug faces, I got relatively grossed out. But the deliciousness overrode the gross factor, so I didn't, like, stop eating them or anything!

The biggest lobsters I have ever seen!

A pretty deli case in the MTR station.
