Saturday Surprises

What's that music in the distance?  Surprise!  It's a flea market/neighborhood festival!  You know you're always gonna stumble upon something good when you just follow the music...

One of the communes in St-Gilles was having a neighborhood festival, with bands and jugglers and food and beer (Of course!  Nothing is done without beer here!) and a flea market.

We browsed for a while on foot, but clearly being strolled around is the way to go.

Then we hit up Chez Moeder Lambic, which is an incredible (and delightful) bar in St-Gilles.  It is known for its vast selection or beer.  They have a well-stocked cellar of dusty old beers, as well.  But it's really just a nice place to sit outside for a spell.  Such a nice place, in fact, that Byron didn't even make a face when I took his picture.

Then we wandered and wandered in St-Gilles, came upon the old prison of St-Gilles (which was rather foreboding), and just marveled at the art nouveau architecture.
