I'm here to tame your lion

Shirt Nice Collective, sweater Gap, knickers.... I forget... got them in Hong Kong, necklace Tatty Devine.

Close up of shirt and amazing mirrored bee-wing necklace by Tatty Devine.

I got these crazy knickers in Hong Kong. The best part is there really aren't any pockets. You can just reach through the buttoned flaps to the knees.

As the crane flies

Shirt vintage, shorts samples from old job, necklaces vintage, shoes Irregular Choice.

Close up of crane print. Bead necklace vintage from mom, whistle necklace vintage purchase... and it works! Toot, toot!

I call these my turban shoes. They remind me of something fabulous actresses from the '40s would wear as after eight attire on their heads.

Iron? Me, iron?

Boy, is that skirt wrinkled! Uh.... check out that necklace!

Shirt Gonzalo Cutrina, necklace vintage, skirt Anthropologie, shoes Jeffrey Campbell.

Close up of the shirt design/necklace.

Calling the Fritter.

Relaxed and cool, despite the fact that my cat is missing a head.

Shirt w/embroidery and openwork vintage, yd herringbone shorts F21, shoes Dolce Vita, pocketwatch from my great-grandfather vintage.

Oh, there it is!

Close up of the openwork on the back of the shirt.

Pilgrim-style!

Close up of the pocketwatch my great-grandma Lograsso gave my great-grandfather when they were engaged. It's over 100 years old and has yellow, green, and rose gold embellishment with a small diamond in the center. My mom and I had it serviced and cleaned so it still works. It is a most precious keepsake.

Trixie, don't be a square!

Nary a moment to photograph this morning! Anyway, the shorts are super-short vintage Lilly. I added a vintage silver chain belt to ensure the look was entirely Palm Beach.

Shadow stripe shirt Ruehl, tank H&M, vintage shorts Lilly Pulitzer, belt vintage, shoes Jeffrey Campbell.

Have I shot these before? Perhaps. Oh well, here they are again. I love the way the gold and silver tones are so subtle they almost blend together.

Flora and fauna

Smooching the local fauna.

Short-sleeved sweatshirt vintage, "J" pin vintage, tank top H&M, skirt vintage, shoes Dolce Vita.
Close up of the print on the skirt. Note that the scientific names are given for the plants. Who says you can't look good AND learn something!
Heavily knocked-off (I'm looking at you, Urban) shoes from Dolce Vita.
Wooden pin with a J on it! It's great when I can thrift something with my actual initial on it... though I'm definitely OK with wearing other letters, as well!

I'm running late, dear... just order me the nicoise

Sweater Ruehl (I have it in three colors), dress Free People, necklace vintage, shoes Jeffrey Campbell.
The dress is in a heavy drill fabric, but I love how it's cut in such a vintage, feminine style.
Close up of one of my first owl necklaces. He's extra special because he's so jointed!

Elephants on LSD

Garment printed shirt (yay for the technique!) Anzevino & Florence (amazing L.A. knitwear), necklace vintage, skirt Princess Tina, shoes Irregular Choice.
Close up of the crazy houndstooth pattern on the shirt and the amazing "diamond"-eyed elephant necklace I thrifted so long ago. He's such a great conversation piece.
Floral printed flats by Irregular Choice.

Island inspired

So feminine!
Dress Vera (yes, she of the lovely scarves with the li'l bug icon), tank Velvet, vintage ivory necklace from Mom (purchased by Dad in the Philippines), fabric and rope sandals Old Navy.

I love it when my polish just happens to match my outfit!

Life of the party

I love the deconstructed tuxedo shirt; and with the bowtie undone it reminds me of someone who's had a few too many martinis. This most lovely Dries Van Noten skirt is one of my latest acquirements. It is one piece of 100% cotton fabric, woven--blanket-style--in four different dobby stripes. There is one seam, where the zipper is, but the magic is in the pleating, which is ultra-flattering and also makes the stripe patterns fall so "haphazardly." It's basically cut like a circle skirt, but the pleats make it into something entirely different. It is one of the most incredible pieces I own.

Shirt Ivory (RIP, Girlshop), inlaid shell bracelet vintage (from Mom), skirt Dries Van Noten, shoes Dolce Vita.

Close-up of the fun tuxedo detailing.
Yellow nailpolish peeks through...
